As I’m in the thick of fall wedding and family sessions, I wanted to start blogging on some of my wedding photography stories and experiences for each wedding I do. Each wedding is special and unique in it’s own way and I want to share them with you, and the stories behind the couples.
So here goes! Today’s Wedding Wednesday post features Katie and Anthony, here is their story…
Katie and Anthony were my first wedding of 2020. Typically the wedding season starts much earlier in the year for me, but COVID-19 had other plans for the wedding season this year…
Katie and Anthony have been together over 10 years since high school and are high school sweethearts. From high school, their story continued as they attended University of Illinois together. Fast forward to December of 2018, when Anthony popped the question to Katie and she ugly cried with a “YES!”
Wedding planning for them wasn’t the smoothest of journeys, throw in COVID-19 and then their initial wedding venue went out of business overnight- leaving them venue-less. They had to go back to the drawing board and settled on Ruth Lake Country Club in Hinsdale, IL.
August 29th, 2020 was their date and they were moving towards it, despite a bumpy start in wedding planning. The weather was perfect for an outdoor ceremony- a little windy but felt good on a warm August day. As family members arrived for a socially distant ceremony, the chairs filled and the ceremony began right along the lakefront, with the backdrop of the golf course.
Katie and Anthony got to dance the night away with their family and friends and as their wedding came to a close- they prepared to honeymoon in Montana just a few days later!
Thank you both so much for having me, it seems like yesterday we were talking about wedding photography in a bar in December of 2019 and now wedding day came and went! I can’t wait to watch your marriage grow and the journey you both go on in life.
