Happy Friday all! Using today’s Friday Feature to highlight Kristina Flens from Wedicity!

Kristina is a wedding/event coordinator at Wedicity Wedding Day Detailing and Fueled Events. She started her journey as an event coordinator in August of 2019 and she truly feel as if this is where she belongs and this is what she was truly meant to do. She actually went to school and started her career path in the dental industry but quickly came to the conclusion that it was not for her. Deep down she always knew she wanted to be an event planner, but since she didn’t go to school for it, she had no idea how or what she should do to get there; though it was always something she knew would make me happy and feel fulfilled.

With a lot of patience, perseverance, and networking, she was able to take the leap of faith and land her dream job with Wedicity and she owes it all to her amazing boss, Tionna Van Gundy. She was introduced to Tionna at a networking event and expressed her interest in pursuing her passion. From then on, the rest was history! Since Kristina lacked prior experience, Tionna started Kristina off shadowing a couple of weddings, which lead to assisting on the day of events, and which ultimately led to a full-time offer with the team. Tionna saw the spark in Kristina and owes everything to her for believing in Kristina and giving her the chance to pursue her dream!

Since Kristina’s journey began, she has learned the intricacies of the process which leads to event day! From working with new clients from day one, to even hopping in midway through, Kristina is now comfortable taking the lead at any stage of planning! At Wedicity, they offer various packages to our clients that differ in our level of participation. Whether it’s starting with a client immediately helping with every little detail, to starting 90 days prior helping to tie up all of the loose ends, to making sure everything falls together and everything in-between. Wedicity helps with vendor recommendations as well as acting as the main point of contact for your vendors, creativity boards, and budget management. They take part in everything and anything that helps you to stay on track and have everything done at a prompt time so that there is no rushing leading up to the big day! Regardless of what package the client chooses, Wedicity is always present from start to finish on event day with the sole purpose of making sure the couple and their families remain stress-free and need not worry about a single thing.

2020 was set to be one of the busiest wedding seasons yet for Wedicity with 30+ weddings scheduled but the pandemic placed a large damper on those plans. They did have a few of their couple’s pivot and still get married with a much smaller guest count, but the majority of their schedule did get moved to next year.  

Although things remain up in the air and there are still a lot of unknowns related to what 2021 will bring, one thing is for certain… Kristina knows she made the right decision of changing careers and becoming an integral part of Wedicity and Fueled Events.

The light at the end of the tunnel may not be visible now, but Wedicity knows once we get there, everyone will want to celebrate; and they will be right there helping to plan it all!
